Who We Are

Roots of Change (ROC) is a collaboration of community, nonprofit, philanthropic, government, and business organizations. ROC provides resources to a diverse alliance of leaders and their institutions that are unified by strategy and collaborate in pursuit of a sustainable food system in California by 2030.
ROC seeks to accelerate the transition to sustainablefood systems by supporting statewide collaboration through:

Convening the ROC Community (Leadership Network, Stewardship Council, Coordinating Team) to develop common strategy;
Making grants to fund strategic initiatives and to scale-up transformative models; and
Developing resources (knowledge, funding, social networking and Internet communication tools that help leaders and organizations connect, contribute, collaborate) and making them available to the community.
